Senior Years

In the Senior School, students are presented with their most challenging, yet memorable and rewarding years of schooling.

It is also the time when lifelong friendships are forged and pathways towards employment or tertiary study are laid with students taking control of their future and striving to achieve individual goals.

Our teachers work alongside students, helping refine the skills they need to successfully engage in an ever-changing world.

The Blackfriars Senior School provides an education that is well-rounded academically, socially, emotionally and physically. Senior School students completing the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) can opt for a fully academic program on the pathway to achieving an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and tertiary studies, a program rich in Vocational Education & Training (VET) leading directly to employment, or a mixture of these based on the student’s individual strengths and interests.

Regardless of a young man’s pathway, we encourage the development of individual talents and abilities through an intensive pastoral and learning support programme. This approach provides students with the direction and confidence to take their achievements to new heights while contributing to the world in which they live.

We encourage boys in the Senior School to make the most of the broad range of co-curricular opportunities available to them and to aspire to positions of leadership among their peers.
